About The Curious Dermatologist

As a doctor I have a strong professional interest in inflammatory, lesional, and cosmetic dermatology, influenced by my personal experience as a lifelong sufferer of eczema and keratosis pilaris (commonly referred to as “chicken skin”). This benign but frustrating condition is characterised by rough, scaly, and uneven skin texture caused by keratin build-up in hair follicles.

For years, I believed there was no solution to keratosis pilaris, as it is often considered untreatable. However, while working with a senior dermatologist, I was introduced to emerging evidence suggesting that certain creams could significantly reduce its cosmetic impact, alleviating roughness, scaling, and uneven appearance. This revelation deepened my curiosity, leading me to conduct extensive research, including literature reviews and meta-analyses, to identify the optimal combination of treatments.

Although there are a number of existing creams on the market with individual benefits, I discovered there was no product that combined key active ingredients to augment the speed and efficiency of addressing keratosis pilaris. Using this knowledge, I developed a unique formulation blending well-established ingredients such as urea, retinol, and alpha and beta hydroxy acids. These components work synergistically to target keratosis pilaris more effectively.

I have personally used this formulation over the past few months and have noticed drastic improvements in my skin’s texture and appearance. This experience has not only boosted my confidence but also solidified my commitment to dermatology. By mass-producing this formulation, I aim to provide a targeted treatment for keratosis pilaris, offering others the opportunity to achieve smoother, healthier skin through consistent use and maintenance.
